My Process

 

Kickoff + Listen.

Meet with and listen to stakeholders and team members. Understand at a high level what questions the team has and what problems they believe we are working to solve. If possible, I'd also love to understand any business goal and KPIs and what metrics they are using to measure success. Let's also identify what we believe we already know as well as some assumptions.

 

Create Research Plan

Gather information qualitative and quantitative data that is already known and conduct secondary and domain research. This information plus information gathered in the Kickoff will inform the research plan and methodologies and/or workshops needed.

Listen

Meet with stakeholders, experts, and team members. What additional information do we need? Listen to all ideas, questions, assumptions, business needs, and goals.


Identify

These are what we believe we already know. What are our team’s assumptions? What do we think we understand about our users, in terms of both their behaviors and our potential solutions to their needs?

Plan

Determine a research methodology or design a workshop depending on the needs of the effort.

Carry Out

Research and/or workshop are executed in collaboration and participation of any stakeholders and team members

Share

Take an approach rooted in storytelling and narrative research; findings and insights are shared and communicated across teams. Clear communication on next steps
